F.A.C.E.T. is the product of a team of people involved in marriage preparation and enrichment, who are also experienced educators.

Steve and Kathy Beirne, who run S&K Publishers, have been actively involved in marriage preparation and enrichment for more than 30 years. Fifteen years ago, they launched Foundations Newsletter for Newly Married Couples, in partnership with the National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers. This bimonthly publication has covered major topics of marital adjustment throughout the years, drawing on the best of current research to provide skills, information, and encouragement to over 100,000 couples during that time.

Steve has an M.A. in catechetical theology and has been an educator his whole life, beginning as a high school teacher and then moving into adult education. He was an early part of a movement toward an educational model that included whole families. In addition to being a lifelong teacher, he is also a lifelong learner.

Kathy received an M.A. in child and family studies from the University of Missouri. In addition to her work in marriage education, she also teaches child development in a local community college.

Together, Steve and Kathy have written one book and numerous magazine articles on marriage and family, and have given talks and workshops across the country on those topics. They married in 1967, have seven children, two sons-in-law and one grandchild, and live in Portland, Maine.

Lauri Przybysz, Masters in Religious Education and Theology, coordinates marriage preparation for the Archdiocese of Baltimore and writes a monthly marriage column for the Christian Family Movement. She has been married for 35 years and is the mother of six and grandmother of 11.

Rev. Robert A. Ruhnke, C.SS.R., M.Th., D. Min., is a Redemptorist priest who became involved in marriage preparation in 1967. In 1975 ~ while Family Life Director in Houston ~ he designed For Better and For Ever which incorporates the use of "sponsor/mentor couples" to teach the skills necessary for living the lifelong commitment of Christian Marriage. He lives in San Antonio TX.

Martha Pezo-Marin is the Coordinator of the Hispanic Family Ministry for the Family Life Office, Archdiocese of Hartford, CT.Martha is responsible of the translation into Spanish of the FACET Inventory and some other documents and articles used in the ministry. She and her husband Cluber have been working with couples in Marriage Preparation and Marriage Enrichment for a number of years within the Hispanic Community.

Don and Chris Paglia are chief consultors on the F.A.C.E.T. tool and co-authors of the facilitator’s guide. Don is a marriage and family therapist. Chris is a marriage and family life educator. Together, Don and Chris are co-directors of the Family Life Office of the Archdiocese of Hartford, CT. They have published numerous articles, and conducted marriage and family ministry programs throughout the U.S. over the past thirty years. They are married forty years, have six children and nine grandchildren.
